Jodie Struthers 
I was born and raised in Midland Michigan and I continue to live in Midland today because of its central location and access to the arts. Growing up I had the opportunity to surround myself with some world class educators and artisans who have, and continue, along with each of my subjects to provide me with the passion to continue to grow and evolve as an artist and person.
Over the years my work has been primarily focused on communicating the unique character and emotion of my subjects and this focus has resulted in my having developed an almost insatiable need to tell the subject’s story through the expressions in their faces and eyes. Following this path has allowed me to travel to find my subjects, which have included everything from people to wild wolves and birds and small critters to my current passion, the wild horses that call the western states of our country home.
"Each of the paintings, below, is of a wild mustang. All were tracked and photographed by me during one of my many trips into the wilds of the western states! These horses were all found in South Dakota in an area south of the Black Hills."
